The Skinsider Celebrity Rumors, Celebrity Gossip, Breaking News on Who's Getting Nude
Shelley Duvall's Bush — Boobalicious Elizabeth McGovern — Lusting for Laverne & Shirley — Grok Pam Dawber

If you’re like the Skinsider you enjoy a skinny minnie. I’m not speaking of the coat hangers who strut their skimpy stuff on the runway. Models are something for little boys to glue together. If you really want to get sticky, though, you’ll focus your freak time on quirky cuties such as Shelley Duvall. She was always a muse to quirky director Robert Altman, and he in turn showed off her muff in Thieves Like Us, which is out today on DVD. Altman’s deconstruction of a depression-era robber flick will have viewers heisting their sperm bank.

Great writers are known for their imaginations, and their imaginations are never more thrilling then when their most tawdry tales are collected in the HBO anthology Women & Men: Stories of Seduction, out today on DVD. There are stories by Ernest Hemingway, Mary McCarthy, and Dorothy Parker, and they’re fleshed out quite nicely by such heavenly bodies as Melanie Griffith, Molly Ringwald, and Kyra Sedgwick. But only Elizabeth McGovern provides subtext, as in her two meaty exclamation points. You’ve never read anything more moving.

If you’re the Skinsider’s age then you didn’t have the luxury of the internet and cable TV to help you discover the joys of masturbation as a teen. The luckier of us had fathers with not-so-secret stashes of Playboy magazines, or we just had to make due with what got through the censors on network television. Laverne & Shirley: The Second Season, out today on DVD, was a bit early for the jiggle phenomenon that made tease an art form, but it still provided a portrait of some of the bad girls who love so good. Penny Marshall, as Laverne DeFazio, offered an in-your-face sexuality, while Cindy Williams, as Shirley Feeney, was short and sassy. That neither ever got nude is one of the greatest tragedies of our civilization.

Another staple of the Skinsider’s burgeoning sexual perversity was Mork & Mindy, the second season of which is out on DVD today. No, I’m no Robin Williams fan. There’s nothing humorous about mental illness. But his foil, pretty, small-breasted brunette Pam Dawber, is truly out of this world. While she never got out of her clothes on this sitcom, she’s not skingy. There’s a brief look at her small wonders in the made-for-TV comedy The Girl, the Gold Watch & Everything. You’ll love her nanu-nanus.
