Has it been almost 30 years? Back in the late ’70s, when porn was big-budgeted and plots were king to the queen of carnality, Penthouse got into the adult-film game with some mainstream and game actors to create a historical drama that was hysterically lusty. Of course the Skinsider is talking about Caligula, which today comes out with a special Three-Disc Imperial Edition. Besides the full-frontal nudity of “Shakespeare’s Slut” Helen Mirren and porn star Lori Wagner (and many, many more), there’s audio commentary from Helen and costar Malcolm McDowell and video interviews with Lori and director Tinto Brass. There’s a DVD-Rom featuring the original screenplay by Gore Vidal, three Penthouse magazine features, an interview with publisher and producer Bob Guccione, and so much more. They don’t make them triple-X like this anymore.

The story of a box-office hunk and his hometown pals playing and plowing through La-La Land is enough to make anyone a Tinseltown wannabe. Forget about the recent mainstream attempt to make a grindhouse film. If you want the goods you have to go to the source. Back in the day that was a drive-in theater or one of those stained-screen cinemas in the bad part of town. Today, however, the show comes home with Grindhouse Double Feature: Don’t Open the Door/Don’t Look in the Basement. The two little-known exploitation gems are pants thrillers, the latter featuring a naked Betty Chandler’s breasts. It’ll make you grind.

The original she-beast from another planet, Natasha Henstridge, is back in Species: Collector’s Edition. There may not be any nude material on the collector’s edition, but that doesn’t take away from Natasha’s fine reveal of both boobs and bush. Needless to add, it’s out of this world. More heavenly bodies are on display in the sequel, Species: The Awakening, thanks to Helena Mattsson. Both are available today on DVD. Watch them and see the alien in your pants get happy.
